Sorry for the diffuiculty on the 405th. The site is still having some growing pains.
So,problems with height? As in when you input the size in the pepakura program? Generally, the number at the top of the list of three is the height in mm. I'm sorry if I don't quite understand what you mean.

psst(small hint, it might be easier for me to understand what you're asking if I didn't have to work so hard to read what you wrote. Please think about using capital letters and periods.)

LOL SORRY OK. I YOUST WANT TO KNOW MY MEASURES, SO WHEN I PRINT THE HELMET FITS LOL. CAUSE I CAN MEASURE MY SELF BUT I QUITE DONT UNDERSTAND THAT SCALE CAUSE I TRY TO PUT ONE OF THE 3 OPTIONS AND FOR EXAMPLE I PUT HEIGH, THE OTHER 2 CHANGE AND MANY PEOPLE SAY THAT THEY YOUST PRINT THE HELMETS YOUST THE WAY THEY ARE THEY DONT TOUCH NOTHING ABOUT HEIGH AND ALL OTHER STUFF .

:iconshinkastudioscosplay:
Okay. I think I understand you better.
When you change the number for height, the other two will change no matter what. You are either trying to scale the model up or down and everything will change relatively. Just ignore the numbers in the scale section. Focus on height. Measure from your chin to the top of your head and add a few mm just to be safe. It's better for it to be a bit larger. After you input that number, the other two will change and you should take a moment to make sure that your head will still fit in the area it has created.
To make sure you understand what size you need, go ahead and print off a low detailed version to play around with.

Hope that helps.

ohhh ok i get it. soo correct me if am wrong ... am making an iron man helmet but before i print i measured my head like u said and my head height is 40 cm, 15 inches, soo that in mm is 400 right? so basically i have to make it a bit bigger so i can put stuff inside like everybody says so its 44 cm , 16 inches = 410 mm. thats how am supposed to print the helmet that size am i right? and in the print settings am having trouble..it should be paper size : letter, size (mm) width 295 , height 410, orientation portrait, side margin(mm) 5, top/bottom margin (mm) 5 , linewight 10 , print lines crearly ( vector print) , transparency 0%, print paper number , bitmap resolution high, and all the pieces get like small and dont fit in the paper even if i rotate them :( but if i choose letter it wont let me put those measurements instead it says : size (mm) width 215 , height 279 , orientation portrait, side margin ( mm) 5 , top/bottom margin (mm) 5 lineweight 10 soo in order for it to make my measurements i have to put it in paper size other cause in letter it youst wont let me cuztomize the size i want .. what am i doing wrong???

Okay. The paper setting has nothing to do with how large you are printing it out at. Just what kind of paper you are using. Just keep it at letter size and most likely portrait, if I remember how most pep files are set up.... So, just set it at letter and keep the margins as you have them, along with everything else on that. Go to the 2d Pattern Window button at the top of the normal screen, then scroll down to change the scale of development. You input the 410 mm in the height area in that box. That will scale the model up/down accordingly. You will then need to rearrange the laid out pieces because some/most of them will now be sitting on more than one page or on another piece.

Hope this helps.

and did they use motorcycle visor

The visor for the ODSTs? Those are special-made visors, created by a member of our prop-making community. He vacumformed plastic over a mold he made.

Motorcycle visors work best when the visor doesn't need a certain shape. You have to be careful. They don't like to hold their shape when bent into the helmet.

I'd just be worried about the heat warping or affecting the tinting of the visor. But I'm not an expert on visors. I'm still learning myself.

i want a ODST helmet. know where i can get one for cheap with this quality?
Reply
:iconshinkastudioscosplay:
:iconmoonwildflower: here,
Savvy actually makes ODST helmets and sells them on ebay. You might be able to find his listing. Of course, you can try leaving a message on herphhalfwayhouse on youtube. He sells the helmets for Savvy. I think he's selling them for about $200 each. I don't think you'll be able to find anything cheaper. Good luck!
